CHAR 18 is a flame retardant coating, imparting reaction to fire to flammable substrates and particularly wood. Its best performance is on wood floors, achieving the class Bfl-s1 according to EN 13501-1, an outstanding abrasion resistance, washability and resistance to moisture.
Fire tests passed include EN ISO 11925-2 (small flame impingement) and EN ISO 9239-1 (radiant panel test). CHAR 18 will do the job with a single product, no need for a topcoat. The fire performance Bfl-s1 is reached with as little as 80 g/m2.
