CHAR 17 is used to provide flame retardancy, imparting reaction to fire to wood substrates and achieving performance class B-s1, d0 according to EN 13501-1. Fire tests passed include EN ISO 11925-2 (small flame impingement) and EN 13823 (Single Burning Item). The thin clearcoat film swells in case of fire to a coherent char particularly suitable for fire protection of flammable substrates. Application on polymers has also been tested. The CHAR 17 coating system includes a waterborne intumescent clearcoat (providing an effective fire barrier with fast activation at low temperature) and a solventborne clear topcoat (providing resistance to moisture and the environment).
CHAR 21 waterborne intumescent paint for fire protection of steel structures, concrete and reinforced concrete structures, masonry and concrete partitioning walls, wood surfaces and in other application fields.
CHAR 21Plus for fire protection of steel structures provides structural resistance to fire up to 90 minutes, with the most recent standard EN 13381-8 and CE mark.
CHAR 22 for fire protection of steel structures providing structural resistance to fire up to 2 hours. Solventborne formulation provides fast drying and durability in difficult environmental conditions with low temperature and high humidity.
CHAR 18 polyurethane flame retardant clearcoat provides durable fire protection to wood floorings, while preserving their natural appearance. Classified Bfl-s1 for reaction to fire.
